Kids apparel market in India poised for significant growth

Kids apparel market in India to witness growth from the current level of Rs 72,000 crore to Rs 95,000 crore by 2016, according to a study conducted by industry body Assocham. It shows that the country's kids apparel market has been growing at a compounded annual growth rate ( CAGR) of about 20 per annum, and this trend is likely to continue at least till 2016.

The main driver for the growth in kids apparel market is the higher disposable income of the parents, peer pressure and brand consciousness among children.

The Autumn Fair, Bahrain's biggest annual shopping extravaganza, returns to the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC). On sale over the 9-day period will be a massive variety of products as more than 750 exhibitors from 21 countries are set to take part in one of Bahrain's largest consumer exhibitions next month.

Covering more than 15,000 sq m of space, the fair is expected to attract thousands of visitors from Bahrain and abroad with a variety of goods on offer, including textile, fashion, furniture, technology, toys and specialty food.

Tamil Nadu textile industry has lot of potential and is looking for government’s assistance to move up in the value chain. Their share of yarn exports was nearly 60 percent. Jute bags for food grain packaging will be reduced further next year

The Textile Ministry has decided no further dilution in the rules for compulsory use of such bags for packaging of foodgrain and sugar this year as it would have severe impact on lakhs of workers and jute farmers.

The Textiles Ministry decided to retain the recommendation of 90 percent minimum jute for food grain and 20 percent for sugar, as recommended by the standing advisory committee for the current season. The jute industry, which is struggling to cope with sharp fall in orders of jute bags, has got a breather.

Warangal farmers urge for biotechnology in cotton cultivation to increase production

Majority of farmers in Telangana state are engaged in cotton cultivation. In Warangal district, about 65 to 70 per cent of farmers cultivate cotton as main crop. Farmers in the Warangal district have urged the state government to help in making modern biotechnology based advancements in cotton cultivation available to cotton growers in Warangal as well as those in other districts of the state.

Grasim, the men's lifestyle brand of the Adtiya Birla Group, plans to open a total of 50 outlets by 2016 from the present tally of 12 retail stores. To drive its future expansion growth the company would be targeting tier II and tier III cities.
