USDA lowers global cotton output, pegs year-end stock higher in 2014/15

The latest report "World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates" of USDA has pegged global output down from its previous month's estimates. In the same vein, it has upped the year-end stock, implying lower consumption volume in 2014/15. Production is reduced for the US and Greece, with smaller revisions in several other countries.

The Gujarat government on Monday announced relief of R1,100 crore for farmers, including R500 crore relief in electricity bills and R600 crore relief in interest on short-term loan through 50% waiver. The final negotiation accord towards a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was signed between Vietnam and the Custom Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan on Monday announcing the conclusion of the negotiation . Vietnam Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung witnessed the signing of joint declaration.
