Prices of garment items exported from Bangladesh dipped by 1.61 percent over the last four years, a reflection of the pressure international clothing retailers and brands always put on the garment manufacturers for lowering prices.

If the period between fiscal 2015-16 and 2018-19 are taken into consideration, price per unit of garment items increased only last year by 1.42 percent, according to data from Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).

Unmade, a British fashion software company that limits waste by manufacturing on demand, has raised £4.75 million ($5.62 million) in its series A funding round.

The company, whose cofounders Ben Alun-Jones, Kirsty Emery and Hal Watts were listed on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2016, offers an end-to-end digital solution for use in knitwear and print customization to place orders directly from customers to "hacked" machinery to create the item.

Signatories of the 2020 Circular Fashion System Commitment, an initiative launched in 2017 by the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), will have to hurry up if they still want to reach all the circularity targets they committed to. GFA’s second yearly assessment of the progress made by fashion brands and retailers was published today and the results are rather disappointing: it turns out they have reached only 45 (21 percent) of the 213 targets set.
