American outdoor apparel brand Cotopaxi has appointed Wales-based Unify Brand Partnerships to be Cotopaxi’s first European distributor. The partnership begins with the launch of Fall/Winter 2020 season and will focus on the UK and Ireland.

Cotopaxi has identified the UK as the next natural step for wholesale distribution, citing the country’s trendsetting consumers and innovative retail opportunities.

Case in point: Diesel teamed up with Coca-Cola to launch a new collection made with recycled cotton and recycled plastic bottles.

The co-branded Diesel x Coca-Cola: The (Re)Collection offers men’s, women’s and unisex denim, sportswear and accessories made from the recycled fibers. The collection consists of 12 pieces, including a unisex denim jacket and jeans with workwear influences, and women’s high-waisted jean shorts with Coca-Cola red accent stitching.

Lisa Batitto, 54, says she has virtually stopped buying clothes ever since she started renting them.

The New Jersey-based museum publicist spends $277 a month on three subscriptions, including one from New York & Company, a women’s mid-price clothing chain with hundreds of U.S. stores.

This is less than what she previously spent, she said. “I still have clothes in my closet from when I was buying, but I can’t tell you the last time I bought anything,” she said.

Three members have joined The Microfibre Consortium (TMC), a project involving outdoor brands and research partners to develop solutions to minimise microfibre release into the environment.

The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC), Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) and Textile Exchange have signed up as research and affiliate members, boosting the consortium’s growing international scope to support greater global topic alignment and collaboration.
