Yarn exports have been very good this year, but to further help yarn exporters, the Government needs to recommence efforts to seal a Free Trade Agreement with the EU to drive exports from the current $15 billion.
India is the second largest manufacturer and exporter of textiles and clothing after China is set to witness robust growth in textile exports this year although a slow moving growth was seen last year recording $40 billion against the set target of $ 43 billion, a shortfall of $ 3 billion. But during this financial year, textile exports is set to touch $ 50 billion.

The American Woolen Company has come forward is in the process of procuring wool mill in Stafford Springs which operated for 160 years before closing in December. The wool mill was one of the last of its kind in the country when it stopped production last year.
