India is the second largest manufacturer and exporter of textiles and clothing after China is set to witness robust growth in textile exports this year although a slow moving growth was seen last year recording $40 billion against the set target of $ 43 billion, a shortfall of $ 3 billion. The ministry of textiles, through its regional office, Navi Mumbai, is hosting a two-day buyer-seller meet for the first time for creating ‘Brand Malegaon’. Though the ministry has organized such meeting at various textile clusters at regular intervals, this is the first time that such an event is being organized in Malegaon. It is a move to boost the efforts of the textile commissioner's office, in association with Malegaon Industries' & Manufacturers' Association (MIMA).

American woolen company to acquire historic Warren mills in Stafford Springs

The American Woolen Company has come forward is in the process of procuring wool mill in Stafford Springs which operated for 160 years before closing in December. The wool mill was one of the last of its kind in the country when it stopped production last year.
