MMF traders and processors dissent to hike in job charge

MMF traders and processors highly disturbed with the hike in job charges recently announced by South Gujarat Textile Traders Association (SGTPA). They have strongly opposed to accept any further hike in prices or taxes stating that it is difficult for them to pass on the burden to the buyers when the man made fabric (MMF) demand has already been hit by inflation followed by late monsoon.
 

Nitura adjourns its plan to build textile complex in Mozambique

Japanese company Nitura that planned to build a textile complex with units for spinning, weaving and apparel manufacture in the city of Nacala-Porto, in Mozambique’s Nampula province has announced the postponement of the project, apparently, due to a lack of security in some areas of Sofala province.
 
The project also included opening a cotton-based raw materials production centre, in Malema district, on a 4,000-hectare plot, to produce the cotton needed for the textile complex to operate and a seed-cotton processing factory in Nacala-Porto.

Rwanda government and C&H, a Chinese based garment manufacturing company has entered into $10million (about Rwf7billion) new textile trade deal. Under the memorandum of understanding signed between them, the company will set up a garment manufacturing plant at the Kigali Special Economic Zone.
 
Following a new trade deal, Rwanda could start exporting textile garments to Europe and the USA. The factory is expected to start with over 1000 Rwandan staff but it projects to employ over 30,000 locals within five years.

Pakistan government plans to announce textile package through Statutory Regulatory Orders (SROs) for the textile Industry. Abbas Khan Afridi, the Federal Minister for Textile Industry on Monday assured a textile delegation while talking to a delegation, headed by Chairman, All Pak¬-istan Textile Mills Asso¬ciation (Aptma), Punjab S M Tanveer.
 
The SROs were sent to the Law Division for vetting and would be notified in the next few days.
