HCMC plan to be the leading garment, textile and fashion service center

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade plans to develop city's garment and textile industry as the leading industrial sector which is able to supply the garment & textile services in the southern region and a fashion center in the country.

HCMC hosted a seminar on November 3 to announce it plan and that it would like to achieve this target by 2020 with vision by 2030.

The Warm Company, textile manufacturer dedicated to providing innovative quality products for the quilting, crafting, and sewing industry as part of its expansion plan would be investing a $4.9 million to expand its existing textile plant and distribution center off Old Sunset Hill Road which will create at least 10 new jobs.

Rwanda and C&H, Chinese Garment Company signs a new textile trade deal

Rwanda government and C&H, a Chinese based garment manufacturing company has entered into $10million (about Rwf7billion) new textile trade deal. Under the memorandum of understanding signed between them, the company will set up a garment manufacturing plant at the Kigali Special Economic Zone.
 
Following a new trade deal, Rwanda could start exporting textile garments to Europe and the USA. The factory is expected to start with over 1000 Rwandan staff but it projects to employ over 30,000 locals within five years.
 

Final negotiation in progress to secure Turkish textile investment in Ethiopia

After the successful establishment of an integrated textile and garment plan in Ethiopia by Ayka Addis, a subsidiary of Ayka Textile industry in 2007. Ethiopia is now in talks with another Turkish textile manufacturer Akber, who are expressed interest last year to construct the textile plant in Ethiopia which will be the biggest so far.

The final negotiations are in progress to secure a planned investment by Turkish textile manufacturer, Akber. The investment is being prepared but not yet finalized.
