Chargeurs*PCC Fashion Technologies, an apparel interlinings manufacturer, today announced the launch of the Sustainable 50™. The product line is the first complete collection of interlinings — the technical components that give garments their shape and structure — to be made with eco-responsible materials, including BCI cotton, hemp, recycled polyester textiles, recycled plastics and Bemberg.

Chinese sportswear group Anta has announced that it has become a member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). It said this decision was part of efforts to execute its “sustainable development philosophy”.

BCI is a Geneva-based organisation that works to promote greater sustainability in cotton production around the world. It is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2019.

Coats launches its new BCI certified cotton thread

British thread producer Coats has launched a duo of new 100 per cent cotton products, both of which have been certified by the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) according to the organisation’s sustainable raw material criteria.

The two new BCI-certified releases, Tre Cerchi Vero and Tre Cerchi Vero+, align with Coats’ 2022 sustainability strategy outlined earlier this year.

Aptma signs MoU with BCI for production of better cotton in Pakistan

To improve the quality of cotton production in Pakistan, the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) on Friday. The MoU will supplement the efforts for mainstreaming production and consumption of BCI cotton in Pakistan.

The initiative also aims in achieving sustainability targets and increase the market access for textile products from Pakistan.

Aptma will be the Programme Promoting Agency within Pakistan to promote the initiative in line with the BCI’s Strategic Plan for the country.
