Diesel and Coca Cola launches sustainable fashion collection

Companies from various industries are taking responsibility for the waste they contribute to the environment.

Case in point: Diesel teamed up with Coca-Cola to launch a new collection made with recycled cotton and recycled plastic bottles.

The co-branded Diesel x Coca-Cola: The (Re)Collection offers men’s, women’s and unisex denim, sportswear and accessories made from the recycled fibers. The collection consists of 12 pieces, including a unisex denim jacket and jeans with workwear influences, and women’s high-waisted jean shorts with Coca-Cola red accent stitching.

Converse have launched their ‘Renew Initiative’ with a range of Chuck Taylors that are made from discarded plastic bottles.

Through its Renew program, the brand aims to create its iconic streetwear in a more sustainable manner by using consumer and industrial waste.

The first lineup features the Chuck Taylor All Star and Chuck 70.

Unifi, based in Greensboro, North Carolina, produces 300 million pounds of polyester and nylon yarn annually to be more innovative and a socially responsible company, Jay Hertwig, VP of global branding for textile maker Unifi said that Repreve was the answer. It’s the firm’s flagship fiber brand made from recycled materials.
