The third annual Cashmere World trade fair and Forum held in Asia’s fashion hub of Hong Kong ended with success. The Cashmere World exhibited a wide range of styles, quality, designs and services offered by the trade fair participants, according to Alessandra Cocchi, the Moderator of the event.

The mix of exhibitors was truly international and reflected the main cashmere producing nations of the world – Afghanistan, China and Mongolia, as well as other participants notably from India and Indonesia.

Ethiopia’s export revenue from textile products has witnessed augmentation during the Growth and Transformation Plan period, but with lower pace, the Textiles Industry Development Institute (TIDI) said.

The 28th Indian Carpet Expo organized to provide an opportunity for traders to directly deal with buyers has began today in Varanasi. Kyrgyzstan has been using the scheme of Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) since 1993. Under this scheme, the EU provides preferences for the import of about 7,000 items. Of these, 3,300 headings provided duty-free access, and 3,700 apply reduced rates of customs duties.

Kyrgyzstan plans to join the updated system of general preferences of the European Union, the Ministry of Economy of the KR reported.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade lastest data reveals that traders have registered contracts to export 93.54 million kg of cotton yarn in August, 8% lower than a year before and compared with 98.81 million kg in July, The registration of cotton yarn export contracts had hit 1,415 million kg in 2013-14, compared with 1,067 million kg a year before.
