A delegation of Tamil Nadu based textile entrepreneurs, led by Prabhu Damodaran, secretary of Texpreneurs Forum during their meeting with the Union Minister of State for Textiles S.K. Gangwar on Wednesday expressed the need to diversify the exports from United States and European Union market to sustain competitive in the apparel production sector.

The delegation also drew attention on the need for policy alterations to help expand exports of textile products to emerging market.

The Customs Union countries including Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus to introduce a system of marking products that means products imported to Kyrgyzstan from China, during their future re-export to Russia, will be qualified as Chinese. Such goods will be withdrawn from the market, and sellers will have to pay significant fines said, advisor to the Russian President on Eurasian integration Sergey Glazyev.

The first Pakistan Textile Summit that is jointly organized by the textile ministry, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) and Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) is scheduled to be held at a local hotel on November 27 (Tomorrow).

The summit will have detailed discussions on the challenges being faced by the textile sector. There will be three sessions -- Textile Industry in Pakistan, Global Textile Market Outlook and Sustainability of Textile Sector.
