The textile park to be set up in Waranagal district, Telangana will be the biggest in the state as the proposal is being revised. The revised park will be in more than 1,000 to 1,200 acre from the 100 acres initially planned.

Warangal is one of the key producers of cotton in Telangana district. There are smaller units operating now. However, many traders take the cotton stocks to Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and other states for value addition. The district also sees large number of people going out in the search of livelihood.

Dow Chemical Company (DOW) will reconfigure and reduce its equity base in the MEGlobal and Greater EQUATE joint ventures, including The Kuwait Olefins Company (TKOC) and The Kuwait Styrene Company (TKSC) in line with its prior announcement to rationalize its investments in certain joint ventures.

The new venture, Far East Spinning Industries Ltd, will be the first company that will completely manufacture compact yarn in Bangladesh. As the company will be setting up a compact cotton yarn manufacturing plant on 40 bighas of land in Habiganj in the next one and a half years which will involve investment of the tune of approximate Tk150 crore.

Far East Spinning Industries, whose paid-up capital stands at Tk 45 crore, is sourcing finance through a syndicated loan of around Tk 100 crore from IDLC Finance and The City Bank.
