The textile mill is owned by Huafu Fashion Co. Ltd., the world's largest supplier of melange yarn, which is based in east China's Zhejiang Province.

The CCI has started arrangements for ginning and storage of cotton for the ensuing harvesting season. The central government had newly lifted the MSP on medium-staple fibre cotton by 28% to Rs 5,150 per quintal and long-staple by 26% to Rs 5,450. Traders expect that the hike would help firm up prices in India compared to the last season, when those were lower compared with the global market.

Union Textiles Minister Santosh Gangwar on Friday at a press conference talking about the Textile Ministry’s performance in the past two years said that under the scheme for integrated textile parks (SITP) implemented to stimulate development of infrastructure, 24 new textile parks have been sanctioned in the last two years, facilitating investment of Rs 4,500 crore and generating employment for 66,000 people.

During the trading session in lint market, prices remained under stress condition due to selective buying. However, buyers in Sindh and Punjab stations bought all grades on cautious note as grade issue was continued. Traders offered all grades of lint on bargaining rates at around Rs 4,975 per maund to Rs 5,375 per maund in order to capitalize maximum returns on their proceeds, floor brokers said.

While, traders at the Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) said that grade-conscious buyers made deals on slightly higher price on Thursday.

A co-operative of local cotton growers have got green signal from the Murrumbidgee Shire Council to build a $24 million cotton gin. It has been given permission to produce 150,000 bales of lint cotton.

The state-of-the-art facility will be capable of producing 60 bales per hour and have the capacity to boost its output to 100 bales per hour if demand increases, putting it on par with the two biggest gins in Australia.
