China to narrow growing trade gap offered to sign FTA with Bangladesh

The Chinese government well aware of the existing trade gap between China and Bangladesh has assured Bangladesh that they want to minimize it. In this connect, the China has offered to sign a free trade agreement with Bangladesh as an effort to narrow a growing trade gap, said the Bangladeshi foreign minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during his three day visit to Bangladesh made the proposal during talks with his counterpart in Dhaka in a move which local exporters described as a 'huge development.

Turkey has been experiencing difficult times with its exports to Russia which has declined by 14.6 percent, dropping to $6.57 billion in 2014 compared to $7.96 billion in 2013 due to the decrease in the value of the ruble.

According to the records of the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TİM), Turkey's total exports rose to $157.62 billion with an increase of 4 percent in 2014. Unlike the increasing export rates in 2014, big losses occurred in the Russian market, having a large impact on all sectors, as Russia is one of the top export markets for Turkey.

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) has demanded for immediate remedial measures against the anomalous increase in dumping of Indian cotton yarn by the Ministry of Commerce (MoC). There is 100 percent rise in dumping of Indian yarn mainly fine counts meant to produce and launch around 140 products under different popular brands annually which is putting the viability of local textile industry at stake.
