Cabot Hosiery Mills has grown regularly since it introduced Darn Tough. It produced 2.4 million pairs of socks in 2007. Tajikistan is also successfully executing the International Trade Center (ITC) program, targeted at supporting the development of the textile and clothing industry and improving the quality management infrastructure. A complete production cycle was organized, including the production of raw materials, spinning, fabric manufacturing, and the manufacture of garments and carpets, in the middle of the last century. The main products are fabrics and garments made from them, denim pants, shorts, textiles, carpet and leather products.

INVISTA has invested more than $600 million in China to support the nylon market, including a 215,000-ton hexamethylenediamine (HMD) plant and a 150,000-ton polymer plant, at the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP), over the past five years.

Invista has been meeting with customers and industry participants to grow a combined strategy concentrated on meeting China’s local needs for ADN, which is used to make nylon polymer, fibres and other specialty materials such as hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) for coatings.

In textile processing units, where number of female workers are 20 against 680 males, they do not have separate toilets for females.The situation in the powerloom units is worse as only few number of industrial areas have toilets and urinals, while most do not have urinal facilities and workers are forced to defecate in the open.
