AI make nylon production more sustainable

Related Keywords: adiponitrile, ADN, electrosynthesis, environment, orgainc, renewable energy, research, Sunthetics

A new method could make producing the precursor to nylon much more environmentally friendly, researchers report.

The chemical and allied industries face challenges such as ready access to reliable energy supplies, waste reduction, water conservation, and energy efficiency. Organic electrosynthesis—an electricity-driven, energy-efficient process that can easily integrate with renewable energy sources—could help solve them.

East Chinese nylon production giant breaks ground

A giant production site broke ground on Monday in east China's Shandong Province, with an annual production capacity of 1 million tonnes of new nylon materials.

With a total investment of around 20 billion yuan (around 2.83 billion U.S. dollars), the site covers an area about 200 hectares in the city of Zibo.

It will also have an annual production capacity of 500,000 tonnes of hexanediamine, 500,000 tonnes of adiponitrile and 500,000 tonnes of acrylonitrile.

Remedy package proposal for Solvay nylon business procurement
