The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), a 15 year old law which had been due to expire at the end of September, allows sub-Saharan African nations duty-free access to U.S. markets for certain goods such as textiles has been renewed by the U.S. Congress. This makes Africa the latest continent wrapped up in a spree of trade legislation clearing through Congress.

Congress cleared the legislation a day after it gave President Barack Obama “fast-track” trade authority to put trade deals, such as the impending Trans-Pacific Partnership, before Congress for an up-or-down vote.

The 25th East China Fair 2015, a prestigious and preferred exhibition that attracts hundred and thousands of exhibitors and visitors of national and international fashion, gifting, and home furnishing business community opened on 1st March at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in the Pudong New Area. Bangladesh-Nepal Expo 2015 kicked off on Wednesday with the aim of providing a platform for the business communities of the two countries to foster business linkages. Minister for Commerce and Supply Sunil Bahadur Thapa inaugurating the expo said that it would strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

This expo is an opportunities to enhance trade between the countries as they share many common cultures. The government is in the process of creating a new trade agreement to facilitate product and service trade in both the countries.

Peru Moda 2015, an international trade show of the fashion industry in Peru presents designers with an opportunity to show their work. Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Magali Silva foresees an explosion of exposure of Peruvian textiles work to the international fashion market from the event to culminate April 15-17 in Lima.

With the aim to increase trade volume to $1 billion the two countries Turkey and Kyrgyztan have entered into a memorandum of understanding on Friday. Two nations share common historical, linguistic and cultural ties.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus speaking at the Eighth Turkey-Kyrgyzstan Joint Economic Commission, held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan stated that the agreement will serve as a road map to increasing bilateral trade volume to $1 billion between the two countries.

Italy is Vietnam's eighteenth largest export market and fifteenth largest import market. The Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd (CCIC) to celebrate the symbols of distinct culture and heritage of India organised a 13 days 'Cottage Crafts Mela' in Delhi on Monday. The exhibition is sponsored by the Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of textiles.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Samir Kumar Biswas, IAS, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts). Pramod Nagpal, Chief General Manager of the Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd (CCIC), was also present on the occasion.

The 9th East Africa Trade Fair for this year, scheduled to take place in Mwanza, this year's event will be showcasing a wide range of businesses and products from across the East African member states.

The Chairman of the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (TCCIA) for Mwanza Region, Mr Elibariki Mmari, said that most of the East African companies mainly from Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and host Tanzania have confirmed to take part this year, while almost all who participated last year have also shown interest to participate.
