Pakistan is the 8th largest exporter of textile commodities in Asia and textile sector contributes 8.5% to the GDP of Pakistan. The total textile sector exports reached $7.72bn value-wise in July-January 2018 versus $7.2bn in the corresponding period of last year, reflecting an increase of 7.18 pc.

The Trade Ministry of Belarus is organizing Beltexlegprom - Belarus' biggest industrial exhibition again this year. The exhibition is organized by the Belexpo National Exhibition Center under the support of the Trade Ministry.

The business program of the exhibition will include special-purpose seminars, roundtables with the participation of leading companies, representatives of the trade sector and mass media, and also the presentation of participating firms and a display of clothes and footwear collections.

An emporium for silk products and showpieces “Silkporium” was inaugurated in capital town, Kohima by Parliamentary Secretary for Sericulture, Home Guards & Civil Defense EE Pangteang on October 13. The showcase will be open for the public on all working days during office hours and it would be acting as an ‘inlet’ as well as an ‘outlet’ for silk growers, weavers and consumers together.

The third edition of Indian Textiles Exhibition in Egypt (INTEXPO EGYPT) is being organized by the Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council of India in association with the Embassy of India and with the active support of Cairo Chamber of Commerce from 1st to 4th October at Cairo in Egypt.

The Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd (CCIC) to celebrate the symbols of distinct culture and heritage of India organised a 13 days 'Cottage Crafts Mela' in Delhi on Monday. The exhibition is sponsored by the Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of textiles.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Samir Kumar Biswas, IAS, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts). Pramod Nagpal, Chief General Manager of the Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd (CCIC), was also present on the occasion.
