An exhibition being held at CP Art Centre in Chennai presenting beautifully embroidered kanchalis or festive blouses vie for attention with exquisite chaniya cholis and dupattas of Kutch is not just an array of bright clothes but the story of Kutch's textile legacy, and the people who are working to preserve the craft. The exhibition to continue till 27 August.

The Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd (CCIC) to celebrate the symbols of distinct culture and heritage of India organised a 13 days 'Cottage Crafts Mela' in Delhi on Monday. The exhibition is sponsored by the Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of textiles.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Samir Kumar Biswas, IAS, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts). Pramod Nagpal, Chief General Manager of the Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd (CCIC), was also present on the occasion.
