Archroma moves forward with full scale production of it's new aniline-free Denisol Pure Indigo

Archroma, a global leader in color and specialty chemicals towards sustainable solutions, announced on 4-March that the production of its new aniline-free* Denisol® Pure Indigo has been accelerated due to the high demand encountered on the market.

Aniline-free Denisol® Pure Indigo 30 liquid was first announced in May 2018 at the Planet Textile Conference held in Canada, and allows a cleaner way to produce the traditional, iconic indigo blue color that consumers associated with denim and jeans.

Greater awareness when choosing textiles - A study entitled “The Key to Confidence” that OEKO-TEX® carried out together with the market research firm Anerca International shows that the awareness of and the need for greater transparency within the textile industry is already growing. Filatex plans to increase its production capacity by nearly 90,000 tonnes to 237,000 tonnes for FY 2018-19. A similar capacity expansion was planned by other polyester manufacturers as well. Polyester prices have moved in a narrow range over the last few months following crude oil prices. Data compiled by the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) showed $1.6 billion worth of man-made filaments and man-made staple fibre products imported into India during the financial year 2017-18.

Rising cotton price worries yarn makers

According to industry sources cotton stocks with small and medium-scale mills would be low. Internationally, China was said to be importing large quantities. Those who were buying for daily needs might be affected.

The mills that had covered cotton at the beginning of the season would benefit now. The mills fear that as the season comes to an end, the prices might go up further. Since cotton is the main raw material, the entire textile value chain will be affected.

India has set up an apparel training centre in Nigeria, first of its kind centre in Nigeria set up in partnership with the government of Nidgeria to support skill development in the textiles sector of the West African nation, said the Indian Commerce Ministry.

The centre is established in the city of Kaduna under the Cotton Technical Assistance Programme for Africa being implemented by India's Department of Commerce, was inaugurated on June 22.
