A training session at the eminent Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute VJTI in Mumbai on 17 May 2018 was addressed to future engineers. More than 220 textile manufacturing and mechanical engineering students followed the technical presentations. The Germany-based Mechanical Engineering Industry Association’s (VDMA’s) Textile Machinery Association to help textile manufacturers interested in developing and manufacturing new products; or enhancing competitiveness by increasing efficiency and quality as well as tackle topics such as saving energy and material resources, digitization, and smart factories will be holding two events one in Charloote, U.S. and one in Mexico city this November to showcase German technology to industry decision makers.

Texprocess, leading international trade fair for processing textile and flexible material will provide a showcase of current sustainable processing technologies this time. Under the label Blue Competence of VDMA (Association of German Mechanical and Plant Engineering), some exhibitors will present special resource-saving product families.

According to a recent study of VDMA, machines produced by German manufacturers allow to save 28% of energy and 33% of water in a comparison between the years 2014 and 2004 within the spinning, knitting and finishing processes.
