First textile tech show GTTES 2015 set up to open up in Mumbai next month

The first Global Textile Technology & Engineering Show (GTTES) 2015 is all set to open up with focus on the post-spinning segment and provide a one stop solution for every business in the textile sector.

More than 300 exhibitors are expected at this event, with strong representation from countries such as China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, the US and India. Seven companies from Coimbatore are also expected to participate, according to International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society, India (ITME) organizer of this event.

The first Pakistan Textile Summit that is jointly organized by the textile ministry, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) and Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) is scheduled to be held at a local hotel on November 27 (Tomorrow).

The summit will have detailed discussions on the challenges being faced by the textile sector. There will be three sessions -- Textile Industry in Pakistan, Global Textile Market Outlook and Sustainability of Textile Sector.

The new Textile Policy 2013-18 recently announced by the Karnataka state government aims to attract investment worth over Rs 10,000 crore in the sector during the five-year policy period but a growth close to three times over the previous policy period, create jobs for about half a million during the new Textile Policy period with majority of jobs in the rural areas and also make the State a preferred textile destination, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said.

The Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) on Tuesday reduced its spot rate by Rs300 to Rs6,455. While, following were Tuesday’s new crop Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) official spot rates for local dealings in Pak rupees for base grade 3 staple length 1-1/32” micronair value between 3.8 to 4.9 NCL.
 

Textile sector worried over losing benefits under TUFS with fresh debt restructuring plan

The Government to tackle impede faced by the textile sector had proposed a debt restructuring package for the textiles industry continues to remain grounded, as textile mills, garment and processing units are worried that any further restructuring would render their bank loans into non- performing assets (NPAs). Moreover, it would disallow them from gaining benefits under the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme and push up their borrowing costs.
