KSIC to set up soft silk unit to make Mysore silk sarees affordable for public

A soft silk unit would soon be set up in Channapatna a town in Karnataka at a cost of Rs 10 crore that will help reduce the price of Mysore silk sarees. This was announced by Karnataka State Silk Industries Corporaion (KSIC) Chairperson D Basavaraju during his visit to KSIC factory in the city.

First textile tech show GTTES 2015 set up to open up in Mumbai next month

The first Global Textile Technology & Engineering Show (GTTES) 2015 is all set to open up with focus on the post-spinning segment and provide a one stop solution for every business in the textile sector.

More than 300 exhibitors are expected at this event, with strong representation from countries such as China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, the US and India. Seven companies from Coimbatore are also expected to participate, according to International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society, India (ITME) organizer of this event.

Karnataka state plans to develop 8 textile parks and one wool park soon

Karnataka has always had a tradition of tapping the best across India and the world to trace a steady growth curve across diverse sectors of the economy. Minister for Textile, Baburao Chinchansoor on Saturday stated that the department plans to open eight textile parks in the coming months.

To set up these textile parks, they may require land in the range of 15 to 50 acres. They will be inaugurated in Bellary, Bijapur, Chamarajnagar, Channapatna, Davangere, Bagalkot, Mysore and Gulbarga.
