Vietnam IZs remain unattractive to foreign investors even with big investment incentives

Some IZs in HCM City located far from arterial traffic routes finding it hard to call for investments. According to latest report by Cushman & Wakefield, a real estate service provider, there are 18 operational IZs in HCM City, covering a total area of 3,625 hectares, 62 percent of which, or 2,260 hectares, is leasable.

According to an Asian investor instead of setting up a factory in Binh Thuan province decided to go to an IZ in Binh Phuoc province which gave very competitive offers.

Vietnam-India bilateral trade turnover surpass $5b target

The Vietnam-India bilateral trade turnover in the first 11 months of the year reached US$5.15 billion, posting an 8.37 per cent year-on-year increase. The two-way turnover has increased by an average 16 percent each year since 2009, making the two countries became important trade partners.

During Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's official visit to India in October, the two countries agreed to take measures to promote bilateral trade to reach a turnover target of $7 billion in 2018, and $15 billion by 2020.

Final negotiation for FTA concluded between Vietnam and Custom Union

The final negotiation accord towards a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was signed between Vietnam and the Custom Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan on Monday announcing the conclusion of the negotiation . Vietnam Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung witnessed the signing of joint declaration.

The custom Union will give Vietnam preferential tariffs and create favorable conditions to introduce into their markets agricultural, aquatic, wood, footwear, garment and textiles of the Indochinese country.

Indian cotton exporters face huge losses over continuous decline in international prices

This cotton year, India has exported 11.5 million bales, compared with 11.4 million bales in the previous cotton year. It is estimated at the beginning of the next season, export will fall 35-40 per cent.

Currently, cotton exports from India have come to a standstill, as the global prices are on a downward trend, while Indian prices are higher than them.
