Planet Textiles 2015, sustainable textile event which tackles the crucial issues on sustainability in the global textile sector supply chain to take place alongside the giant Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics event. The event is jointly organized by MCL Global, the publisher Ecotextile News and trade fair organizer Messe Frankfurt.

Planet Textiles first debuted in Hong Kong in 2009, with delegates from previous years including executives from Walmart, H&M, Li & Fung, Marks & Spencer, Esprit, Esquel, Crystal Group, Timberlands and Greenpeace.

India to provide funding for the Rivatex revival and expansion project

India showing interest in revival and expansion of the Rift Valley Textile Company Ltd (Rivatex) currently owned by Moi university Company, which acquired and revived it after it collapsed.

India will sign a financing agreement with the Kenyan government once it is satisfied with the firm's revival. The Export-Import Bank of India will provide funding for the planned expansion of the textile company. Rivatex's operations will be expanded at a cost of Sh7.9 billion.

According to the State Bank report, there is 80 percent decline in the FDI, in July FDI dropped to just $24 million from $119m in the same month last year.

With Pakistan facing sharp decline in FDI, it is likely to break the confidence of foreigners willing to invest, particularly while the neighbouring India looks more attractive with $28 billion FDI in 2013.

Lithuania-China Business Council sees China as a big market for Lithuanian companies. Newly established at the beginning of this year, the council is aimed to increase Lithuanian-Chinese economic cooperation and promote Lithuanian exports to China as well as Chinese investments to Lithuania, Osvaldas Ciuksys, chairman of the council said on Monday.

The council is looking ahead to promoting bilateral trade between the two countries. Ciuksys stated during the interview with Xinhua, as the current bilateral trade and investment figures are not high.

The Boretech Group a PET (polyethylene terephthalate) recycling company founded in 1991, headquartered in Taiwan which specializing in recycling plastic bottle operating two processing facilities in China is close to commissioning its first PET recycling facility in the USA.

The construction of new plant in Stockton, California is nearly completed, and Boretech expects to receive its official permit by early September, with operations beginning shortly thereafter. The plant will have the capacity to process 4.5 tonnes of PET per hour once fully operational.
