Uzbekistan, S Korea to start textile techno park in Sept

The head of the State Investment Committee of the Republic, Azim Ahmedkhadzhayev announced it at the first Uzbek-Korean meeting on economic cooperation issues on February 13 announced that Uzbekistan and South Korea plan to launch a modern textile techno park in Tashkent in September.

The new facility will be created on the territory of the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry and the project is financed through grant funds provided within official development assistance program of the Korean government.

Pakistan’s Minister of State for Finance, Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan during his meeting with Ambassador of Japan, Takashi Kurai invited Japan to assist Pakistan to promote its textile through Preferential Trade Agreements (PTA). He hoped that the economic cooperation between the two countries would be brought to a much higher level with the passage of time.

Lithuania-China Business Council sees China as a big market for Lithuanian companies. Newly established at the beginning of this year, the council is aimed to increase Lithuanian-Chinese economic cooperation and promote Lithuanian exports to China as well as Chinese investments to Lithuania, Osvaldas Ciuksys, chairman of the council said on Monday.

The council is looking ahead to promoting bilateral trade between the two countries. Ciuksys stated during the interview with Xinhua, as the current bilateral trade and investment figures are not high.
