Lenzing plans to construct a state-of-the-art plant with a production capacity of 90,000 tons per year at its site in Mobile, Alabama. The new facility will be the largest Tencel fibre plant in the world with an investment of total US$293 million (EUR275 million) and will utilize the latest technological standards. The Supervisory Board of Lenzing AG has approved the investment in a new Tencel fibre plant in the USA.

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions signs up a deal to build a PET polymer and staple fibre production plant in Ivanovo, Russia which is supposed to have an annual production capacity of up to 200,000 tons of polyester polymer.

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solution’s role in the project will include engineering, procurement and supervision of the erection and commissioning of the plant.

The Germany-based multinational firm is working with the Russian company Polyester Plant Ivanovo which is involved in worldwide polyester staple production.

Export-oriented Shasha Denims mainly engaged in manufacturing different types of classical indigo denim (denim fabrics) through the integrated manufacturing process of weaving, dyeing and finishing. As part of its expansion plan the company would be expanding its production capacity by 10 lakh yards to 28 lakh yards in the next one and a half years.

In line with the expansion, modern machinery will also be installed that will improve the quality of denim fabrics, said Jamal Abdun Naser, director of the leading denim fabric producer based in Dhaka Export Processing Zone.

The Ethiopian government sells all of its shares in the Saygin Dima Textile Factory S.C. to its Turkish private sector partner company Saygin. The Turkish company will pay 563 million Br over five years for 90pc of the value of the government's share.

The Privatization & Public Enterprises Supervising Agency (PPESA), established the textile factory in partnership with Turkish investors in 2009, with a capital of 78.5 million dollars. Originally, the government owned 60pc of the company, while Saygin, a Turkish company, owned the remaining 40pc.

DAK Americas is one of the largest integrated producers of PET resins in the world and the main producer of polyester staple fibers in the Americas. As part of its expansion plan, DAK Americas LLC (DAK) has announced a project to increase the polyester staple fiber (PSF) production capacity at its Cooper River site near Charleston, S.C.

The project will increase the capacity of the Cooper River facilitiy by 55 million pounds per year (lbs/year) across the company's current product line of textile and nonwoven PSF offerings.

Daewoo International Corporation, a South Korean company has part of its expansion plan has decided to make an investment to the tune of $22 million to expand production capacities of two textile enterprises Daewoo Textile Fergana and Daewoo Textile Bukhara in Uzbekistan.

The relevant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Uzbekengilsanoat State Joint Stock Company and Daewoo International Corporation on expansion and modernization of production capacities of the Daewoo Textile Fergana and Daewoo Textile Bukhara.
