To make powerloom owners and workers aware of Union ministry of textiles’ PowerTex schemes, a seminar was organized by textile commissioner’s regional office at Surana Palace on Friday.

Power minister Paras Jain was the chief guest and MLA Mohan Yadav special guest. Guests urged beneficiaries to reap utmost advantage of schemes to develop their business.

Key speakers at the seminar included textile committee Indore’s assistant director CS Singh and officer in-charge Pranav Parashar.

Resurgence has been witnessed in the Indian textile sector with the introduction of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Maximum utilization of FDI has been ensured by the textile minster and his ministry. The government is providing grants under market access initiative and market development assistance scheme for this purpose.

The central management information system for Integrated Skills Development Scheme (ISDS) was launched on Wednesday by the Textiles Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar. The management information system (MIS) is developed with a view to monitor the progress of the ISDS scheme.
 
MIS will ensure transparency and also serve as skills exchange, enabling effective linkage between the industry who are potential employers and the training providers/trainees.
