India saw major slow down in export of polyester spun yarns to Slovenia

India exported a total of 2.56 million kgs of polyester spun yarn to 47 countries in November 2015 totaling US$5.73 million, out of which 16.8 percent was shipped by Turkey. The unit price realization was averaging US$2.24 per kg down by US cents 39 a kg and in value terms it was also 9.7 percent down as compared to November 2014.

In November, thirteen new destinations were found for polyester yarn of which, Nigeria, Ecuador, Cote D'Ivoire, Togo and Mauritania were the major ones.

Albany International Corp. reported that its German affiliate, Württembergische Filztuchfabrik K. Geschmay GmbH has announced plans to reduce manufacturing operations at its press fabric manufacturing facility in Göppingen, Germany.

This planned action is driven by the continuing consolidation of paper industry customers in Europe, and the continuous need to match the Company’s paper machine clothing manufacturing capacity in Europe with the demands of customers.

Bulgarian textile exports on the rise reaching 1.8 bn euros highest level since 2007

Bulgarian export of clothing and textile marked growth in 2013 with exports reaching 1.8 billion euros - the highest level of Bulgarian exports since 2007. A 7 percent growth in export has been marked in comparison to 2012. Out of those 1.8 billion, export of textiles totaled € 328 million or about 18% of the total exports of the country. In 2014 it is expected that the branch will grow further.

These results bring Bulgaria's textile industry closer again to the strongest periods and the highest levels of export before the global economic crisis.

Gerd Müller, Germany's Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), launched a new Textiles Alliance in Berlin on Thursday. Its goal is to help move the international textile supply chain toward better labor and environmental practices. But many key players are refusing to join.

Müller's ministry wants to see improvements at every link in the supply chain - from the cotton fields through the textile dyeing and clothing production process to distribution and retail.
