Boogie, Twist and Swing are names for new fabrics

Keeping with it’s sock hop celebration theme, the company is releasing a collection of Celliant Home textiles with names like Boogie, Twist and Swing. Celliant textiles are already used in a wide range of products including bedding and athletic apparel.

Currently, the company has exclusive manufacturing and distribution rights on Celliant for the contract and home furnishings fabric markets in North America, Mexico and the Caribbean.

China is the world's largest cotton importer, bringing in over 1.1 million tons last year. Ruichang Tech operates in several African countries and has an annual output of at least 100,000 tons of unginned cotton - before the fiber is separated from the seeds and waste material - and 1,200 tons of cotton yarn. Every ton is shipped to China as raw material for the textile industry.

Grasim’s managing director Dilip Gaur said that, “Viscose is eating out of other fiber markets. Our domestic fiber business has grown by 22% (annually) during the March 2018 quarter,” adding that the bulk of the growth in the textile business is expected to come from the company’s VSF business in the future.On a consolidated basis, Grasim Industries will invest more than Rs13, 327 crore in capex into its textile and cement businesses till financial year 2021.

Royal DSM announced last week that it will increase production capacity for Dyneema®, the world’s strongest fiber™. The company is investing to install additional new UD technology at its plant in Heerlen, the Netherlands, and its plant in Greenville, N.C. The capacity expansion will enable DSM to fulfill the growing global customer demand. The growing domestic U.S. market will be served better from DSM’s Greenville facility. It will also make improvements to existing production lines to expand Dyneema UD and Dyneema fiber capacity, incorporating the latest technologies.
