Pakistani exporters need to fully concentrate on enhancing their exports to the potential markets of EU countries, as the GSP plus facility granted by European Union to Pakistan will remain intact by December 31, 2023, said Federal Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dasttgir on Monday while addressing a function in Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI).

Italian Ministry of Economic Development, Ivan Scalfarotto during his visit of 60 member delegation has inked with the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) six Memorandum of Understandings (MoU for promotion of bilateral commerce and trade between the two nations.

The Italian Textile Manufacturing Association signed three separate MoUs with All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturing Association (PHMA), and Pakistan Readymade Garment Manufacturer and Exporters Association (PRGMEA).

Pakistan and Italy making efforts for revival of economic relations between them with special emphasis on frequent exchange of trade delegations, said Italian Embassy First Secretary Elena De Vito addressing the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) on Tuesday, said that an Italian delegation headed by Mrs Deniela Cannizzo of the Confederation of Italian Industries, Rome, was now visiting Faisalabad, which would be followed by another delegation for B-to-B meetings with local entrepreneurs.

The FCCI (Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry) Trade Delegation last year visited Spain. As follow up the Spanish trade delegation would be visiting Faisalabad in September 2015. Suprio Bose, Managing Director ACCIO Barcelona disclosed this while addressing the members of FCCI on Saturday.

Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) to partake in Jakarta Textile Expo as it would not only give a new potential market to Pakistan but also help in further enhancing their bilateral trade. It will also exploit its good offices to make it a total success, said President FCCI Engineer Rizwan Ashraf said while talking to Ambassador of Indonesia Burhan Muhammad during a special function held here on Tuesday.

United Kingdom High Commissioner Philip Barton addressing the business community at Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) in Faisalabad on Monday emphasized that the local business community need to play dynamic role to augment Pak-UK bilateral trade to 3 billion pounds by end of 2015.

Mr Barton said that more than 100 British companies were already working in Pakistan, adding that he would strive to convince others to come and invest in Pakistan.

He also expressed satisfaction over the increase in Pakistani exports to European Union after the grant of GSP Plus status.

Pakistan has planned to proliferate its textile sector. For this, it has devised to manufacture textile machinery and agriculture implements. About Rs. 100 million are to be invested in this plan. It includes setting up a Common Facility Centre (CFC). The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) has taken an initiative in this context.
