The long-awaited Yarn Expo Autumn will be held again in Shanghai from 11-13 October, welcoming thousands of industry players who are looking for quality yarn and fibre products from China, Asia and elsewhere. As an effective and highly praised platform for reflecting the latest industry trends and attracting worldwide buyers, Yarn Expo has been growing in popularity every year, with the number of exhibitors increasing to around 493 this edition, up from 319 last year. The exhibition space will also expand by 115%, allowing suppliers to showcase more of their products to visitors.

The African Sourcing and Fashion Week, main trade show of Africa for cotton, textile, apparel, home and technology industries organized by Trade and Fairs East Africa and Messe Frankfurt kicked off in Ethiopia on Tuesday which gathered some 230 international producers and exporters from 25 countries.

According to the organizers, the exhibitors are drawn from countries such as Turkey, the United Arabic Emirates, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, Italy, Germany and the host nation Ethiopia.

Textile Corp. of America announced Monday it will make the biggest private investment ever in Bledsoe County, spending $27.1 million to buy and upgrade the vacant 186,000-square-foot factory building in Pikeville.

The new company, which is owned by Chattanooga developer and businessman Ed Cagle, plans to start production of apparel, bedding and linens this fall. Officials said that they hope to quickly increase the staff to 1,000 employees and begin hiring and training workers in the next month or so.
