LyondellBasell multiplying its ethylene capacity at the US Gulf coast

The American multinational chemical company based in Houston, Texas, LyondellBasell, plans to introduce three major projects. The company tries to multiply ethylene capacity at the U.S. Gulf coast through these growth projects.

The company’s first project is the methanol plant at Channelview, Texas which was placed into service in fourth-quarter 2013 to take advantage of low-cost natural gas from shale formations. The unit had been out of service since 2004 due to the rising cost of natural gas, the key feedstock for methanol production, the company said.

Natural fibre trading gains over limited cotton arrival

Trading of natural fibre was seen due to decrease in the cotton arrival. In the past few days cotton arrivals have decreased from 65,000 bales to 50,000 bales. According to a Rajkot-based ginner, farmers are holding back kapas and they are not willing to sell at lower price.

With the limited cotton arrival, price of Natural fibre increased by Rs200 for a candy of 356 kg. Kapas or raw cotton prices also gained.

According to brokers, demand emerged from domestic mills and exporters also began to buy to meet their immediate needs.

Sateri Fujian new VSF plant begins production
