Nitori Holding, Japanese investors set to enhance cotton farming in Tanga region

Japan's Nitori Holdings Company set off the move to ensure that cotton is no longer exported as raw material rather exported as processes good for which they has secured 4,000 ha from Handeni District, Tanga Region for cotton farming and textile factory investment.

Tanzania Cotton Board (TCB) Acting Director General Gabriel Mwalo said that the investors will begin cotton farming on the 4,000 ha that they have been given by the district authorities.

Russia to come up with its large scale polyester fibre and a new generation of nonwovens production plant in Tambov region by CJSC Kotovsky Nonwovens Plant, one of Russia’s largest producers of nonwovens.

The capacity of this plant will be 210,000 tons of polyester fibre per year as well as 20,000 tons of a new generation of multi-layer nonwovens and will require a total investment of more than 2 billion Roubles (USD$60 million).
