The Russian technical textiles industry may receive an additional impetus for growth this year, thanks to the recently announced government plans to ease the existing restrictions on global producers taking part in public tenders for the purchase of innovative textile products for state needs.

In India geotextiles, automotive products, wipes, sanitary napkins and baby diapers showing very promising growth rates. Typical applications of needle-punched nonwovens are artificial leather, automotive felts and carpets. Products for thermal and noise insulation are typical applications for the Airlay technology.
Recycled PET is used in various nonwoven applications: roofing products, the automotive sector and nonwoven geotextiles are large users of R-PET fibres and resins. R-Pet can also be found in some hygiene products, such as diapers.
Currently over 200,000 metric tons of recycled PET is used in the production of nonwovens. By 2025 this will grow to over 300,000 tons, providing that the post-consumer waste volumes necessary are available.
Many innovative solutions to the nonwovens industry has been brought by Dilo and it has become a preferred supplier for the production of nonwovens and technical textiles used for example in automobiles, filtration products, geotextiles, synthetic leather, roofing material, domestic and industrial wipes, hygiene products, agricultural products, natural fiber felts for upholstery and bedding applications.
Lodz, once the biggest and fastest growing the centre of Poland's textile industry to revamp and modernize its under invested and troubled textile players, the Polish government as part of the Innotextile programme, plans to invest around PLN 400 mill (€95 million). The programme through its research and development activities will provide the city with a much-needed funds for the development of innovative textiles such as hydrotextiles, geotextiles and agritextiles and their production by local manufacturers.
