Indian textile industry aims the 350 billion dollor mark by 2025

India, which is emerging as a global textile hub with huge potential, needs to develop man-made fibre to remain competitive in the global market and it aims to be a $350 billion industry by 2025, industry officials June 6 said.

"It is high time that the industry changes its approach to move into the second growth phase and aim for exports of around $100 billion from the current $40 billion," Textiles Secretary Ajit B Chavan said at the CII Texexcel 2019, the National Textiles 4.0 Summit here.

Clothing rental options are evolving from one-off, special occasion outfits to subscriptions for everyday apparel, and a Canadian company is expanding its closet to get in on the trend.

Rent Frock Repeat is relaunching this fall as a monthly clothing subscription service, after eight years in the designer dress rental business.

"[The customers are] the ones that set this in motion, because the demand was there," said Kristy Wieber, president of Rent Frock Repeat.

Online marketing solution firm SEMrush updated its list of the most searched global fashion sites, and H&M took the top spot, knocking Macy’s to the number-two position. Russian e-commerce site Wildberries came in third.

Separately, the company said it has rolled out a new platform for Amazon sellers, called Sellerly. “Sellerly allows users to run a split test of different product detail pages to see which of the options gets the most views and better conversions,” the company said in a statement.
