Today Aquafil S.p.A. finalized the acquisition of 100 percent of O’Mara Inc. for a total consideration equal to $40.5 million. The deal was completed through the Group’s U.S. subsidiary, Aquafil USA Inc.

O’Mara Incorporated — founded in 1970 — produces nylon, polypropylene and polyester fibres mainly in solution-dyed colors in its plant based in Rutherford College, N.C. In 2018, O’Mara reported a turnover of $40.1 million, with margins in line with those of Aquafil Group.

Kordsa inaugurated its additional polyester line in Turkey with an investment of US$ 18 million in order to meet the increasing demand in the field.

Kordsa, providing reinforcement technologies to the global market, had announced a polyester yarn investment in both Indonesia and Turkey which would enable 7,000 tons of additional capacity in each plant in 2016.

Rent Frock Repeat is relaunching this fall as a monthly clothing subscription service, after eight years in the designer dress rental business.

Vietnam's garment export growing since last 5 months

Vietnam has gained nearly USD12.1 billion from exporting garments and textiles in the first five months of this year, posting a year-on-year increase of 10.3 percent.

Revenues of the country's garments and textiles exported to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) soared 31.6 percent, to South Korea up 16.3 percent, to the United States up 9.8 percent, and to Japan up 6.5 percent.

In May alone, the garment and textile export turnovers reached USD2.6 billion, gaining a year-on-year increase of 10.8 percent.
