Pochampally Handloom Park Ltd (PHPL) an integrated textile park that houses designing, dyeing and weaving facility for textiles under a single roof is all set to organize a 4-days, Pochampally IKAT art mela- 2014 in New Delhi. The fair is completely dedicated to Handloom products.
The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB), on after the recently petition submitted by the villagers of nearby Ellapalayam stating one textile dyeing unit was discharging huge quantity of untreated effluents into fertile lands, causing them problems. The Board had examined it and ordered closure of the factory.

Auro Textiles and Mahavir Spinning Mills, both subsidiaries of Vardhman Textiles, who had proposed for setting up two major units in Himachal Pradesh has received approval. The green signal was given by the single window clearance and monitoring authority at its meeting which was presided over by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. Auro Textiles has proposed to invest Rs.22,858 lakh with employment potential of 392 people, while Mahavir Spining Mills proposed to invest Rs.33,028 lakh with employment potential of 860 people.
Non-traditional exports from Peru are expected to post a 15 percent growth in 2014 from last year, mainly driven by shipments of agricultural products, clothing exports, and other value-added products. This trend of exports will help Peru find new niches in the modern economy, according to the country’s Foreign Trade Society (ComexPeru) In its latest report released, Comex found the non-traditional sectors which showed the highest pick up in the overall exports this year are agriculture, textile and clothing activities.

Gujarat’s textile policy has made the spinning sector attractive moreover after observing positive trend in the global market for India, Sintex Industries to get into spinning business also . Sintex is setting up a spinning unit with 0.3 million spindles at a cost of Rs 1,800 crore in Gujarat and later plans to increase it up to 1 million spindles with a total capex of over Rs 5,000 crore over the next five years.

The government to boost its MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) products in international markets has decided to give upto 50 percent subsidy to exporters on total freight charges paid on good shipped through ports outside the State.
According to the draft export policy, the exporter will get reimbursement upto 50 per cent on the total cost of transportation subject to a ceiling of Rs.50, 000 on goods shipped outside State port, provided ports within the State do not have facilities for handling such cargo.
