Recycled PET is used in various nonwoven applications: roofing products, the automotive sector and nonwoven geotextiles are large users of R-PET fibres and resins. R-Pet can also be found in some hygiene products, such as diapers.

Currently over 200,000 metric tons of recycled PET is used in the production of nonwovens. By 2025 this will grow to over 300,000 tons, providing that the post-consumer waste volumes necessary are available.

On the stage of the first Denim Première Vision in London the whole new PG DENIM project will fully unveil its many novelties. This year too Epson will participate in Heimtextil, Frankfurt, on 8-11 January 2019. The company will present its offer for the home textile market to both operators in the sector and to visitors by creating a living room in partnership with Brochier, the prestigious brand of top of the range furnishing fabrics. Some furnishing items will be displayed in this setting. Sofa, armchairs, poufs, curtains and carpets have been made of fabrics printed by Monna Lisa, featuring the suggestive motif of the Utopian Philodendron, chosen from the company’s archive of furnishing fabrics.

Now The Wolfsonian—FIU is expanding its global scope with Made in Italy: MITA Textile Design 1926–1976, its first-ever major collaborative exhibition with its kindred museum. It was also organized in cooperation with the Consulate General of Italy in Miami.

Silvia Barisione from The Wolfsonian and Matteo Fochessati and Gianni Franzone from The Wolfsoniana curated the exhibition, which borrowed many of its items from the Italian museum’s collection.

According to the University, the technology is scalable at mass-production levels via a process known as fibre-spinning and is currently produced in Melbourne, Florida, with CREOL’s collaborators at Hills. The CREOL team is currently working with Hills to further reduce the diameter of the threads to produce fabrics for wide-scale market adoption. Finally, the patent-pending fabric is said to have the skill to be used across a large range of applications from clothing and accessories to furniture and fixed installations in housing and business décor.
