Five year plan to develop spinning, weaving companies in northern Egypt

During the Parliament’s local administration committee’s meeting held to discuss a complaint regarding the misuse of state’s lands affiliated with a spinning and weaving company in Beheira governorate. The government has come up with a five year plan to develop spinning and weaving companies in northern Egypt, said Head of the Cotton and Textile Industries Holding Company Ahmed Mostafa on Wednesday.

According to the complaint, these lands were being sold and leased for personal purposes. Mostafa agreed that there was a misuse of these lands and that the issue was under investigation.

Chinese industrial giant Shandong Ruyi is planning its first North American gigantic textile factory in a small town in the southern U.S. state of Arkansas which will not only transform the state but it's expected to create 800 jobs.

Forrest City, located near the Mississippi River, is where Shandong Ruyi plans a $410 million investment to spin yarn at a factory where local workers once built Japanese televisions.

AEDC communications director Jeff Moore said that the Shandong Ruyi plant is projected to begin production in mid-2018.

Rwanda government to boost Made in Rwanda campaign has announced tax exemption for importation of textile raw materials and leather, it applies to both import duties and Value Added Tax (VAT) which is effective from Friday, December 2, 2016. Although this move will see government lose billions of francs in taxes that it was getting from leather and textile imports, in the long run the government hopeful that it will boost the Made in Rwanda campaign.

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) chairman SM Tanveer said on Sunday that textile industrialists were planning downstream integration to add another $13 billion to the exports and help the country to get rid of loans from international donors. An increase of $13 billion export in next three years would create another 13 million jobs in the country and hence appealed to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to announce a relief package for textile industry before Eid-ul-Azha.
