Wayne Honeycutt, president and chief executive of the Soil Health Institute, said that, “I’m grateful Wrangler has taken up this cause, because the potential to transform agricultural lands with soil health practices is tremendous.” He added that,”If farmers adopt these practices globally, we’ll have much greater resiliency in our food and fibre production. We’ll also have cleaner water and air, and we can draw carbon out of the air to regenerate our soils for current and future generations.”

The Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Adel El-Beltagy announced on Sunday that the state will not offer any form of subsidies for cotton farmers or spindles during the next season pointing out that long staple cotton cultivation is very expensive and there is no demand for it either domestically or internationally.

Cotton farmers although favoured by Mother Nature, but it is not the same for the cotton market with cotton price dropping more than 20 percent just in the past few months. The price was around 85 cents per pound before Memorial Day. It's now as low as 64 cents.
 
Cotton is growing well across the country, which means supply is up, but a major buyer, China, has a lot of cotton in reserves, so demand is down. The reason of drop in cotton price is due to both supply and demand trend.

Swaziland government continues to play a major role in supporting cotton farmer due to this the income from cotton sales has moved from E1.6 million to E13m in 2013. As there is a significant increase in cotton production, its sales are expected to rise in the current season to E16 million.
Swaziland Minister of Agriculture Moses Vilakati said that cotton as a major role to play in the country. Production has also significantly increased from 394 to 2 485 metric tonnes between 2008 and 2013.
