Fibre manufacturer Hyosung will be presenting an updated collection of its recycled fibres at the upcoming Intertextile Shanghai show (September 25 to 27), including its first innovations in recycled spandex.

It claims its recycled yarns offer the same performance levels as its standard products.

The South Korean group will also show its cooling fibres, mipan regen aqua x nylon and regen askin, and its natural touch polyester cotna fibre. It will also focus on creora Color+, a spandex that provides vibrant colours for nylon.

Spandex, a copolymer based on polyurea-polyurethane also known as elastane. Spandex fibers are significantly consumed in a wide range of textiles due to strength and strong elasticity as well its ability to return to its original shape after stretching as compared to ordinary fabrics. The Directorate General of Safeguards has started scrutinizing imports of bare elastomeric filament yarn on a petition filed by Indorama Industries seeking imposition of safeguard duty on bare elastomeric filament yarn also known as spandex imports.
