JR Group UK, is all set to launch a new £9 million project in Bradford later this month. The group is into manufacturing, recycling and trading in textiles for over 160 years. The project, set over 6.5 acres, comprises a combination of machinery housed in a purpose-built building covering 56,000 sq ft, offices and a distribution centre.

The building work for phase one completed by mid-September and work has already commenced on phase two with a combined cost of over £5 million.

Unifi, Inc. a speciality textured yarn supplier has come to an agreement with the owners of Complast S.A. and Technologia Textil Avanzada (TTA), by signing a non-binding letter of intent to form a joint venture in Guatemala. Both the companies in Guatemala are into recycling, spinning and texturing.

Under the terms of the deal, the joint venture will continue the recycling, spinning and texturing activities of Complast and TTA with Unifi owning 51% of the joint venture and the existing owners of Complast and TTA owning the remaining 49%.
