A mega textile park will be coming up soon at Chintalapalli of Sangem mandal in Warangal city with an estimated investment to the tune of Rs1,150 crore and it is expected to provide direct employment to 1.13 lakh people, said Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari speaking to the media at Chintalapalli where he attended the Haritha Haram programme on Tuesday.

Nearly 1,190 acres of land has been acquired from farmers without any hassles because of the special efforts made by District Collector Prashanth J Patil.

Chairman of Salem Yarn Colouring Park Private Limited, A Alagesan, in a petition sent to the Chief Minister stated that dyers have been facing effluent related problems and set up CETP is the only solution. Hence, the members involved in yarn colouring demands 100 acres for establishing an integrated textile processing park with Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) here.

If the park with CETP is established it would not only provide direct employment to 3,000 workers apart from indirect jobs to 15,500 workers.

The common effluent treatment plant (CETP), to be constructed under the Union government’s Integrated Processing Development Scheme, will become operational at Pottakulam and Tamaraikulam in Kariapatti taluk of neighbouring Virudhunagar district with an investment of Rs. 167.3 crore by this time next year. It will come up at an industrial estate to be created under the Private Industrial Estate Scheme of the State government over an area of 100 acres.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis laid foundation stone for starting additional facilities for Textile Park in Nandgaon Peth MIDC, Amravati. Fadnavis announced that on the lines of Nandgaonpeth, eight more textile parks would be set up at Yavatmal, Buldana, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed and Nanded.

Admitting that farmer suicides were reported mostly from the cotton-growing areas, he said that his government gives special priority to providing irrigation facilities and setting up cotton processing units in these areas.
