Denim group Kontoor Brands, owner of Wrangler and Lee, has published its first forest-derived materials (FDM) policy, which sets standards for the company’s purchasing and use of sustainable forest materials and products.
Until May, the group was part of VF Corp, which published its FDM policy in 2017.

Spinnova is a Finnish wood fibre company that develops ecological technology for manufacturing pulp-based textile fibre. Spinnova’s patented technology is said to save water, energy and chemicals, making wood-based textile fibre significantly more ecological than cotton or the current man-made fibres.
Uzbekistan to build another modern textile factory till late next year which involve investment to the tune of $92 million as a consistent step aiming at developing its textile industry. The factory will annually produce 10,000 tons of polyester fiber, 10,000 tons of polyester yarn, 20 million running meters of mixed fabrics, and 7,000 tons of blended linen.
