Major lifestyle brand partners with Polygiene

Anti-odour textile technology provider Polygiene has announced a new partnership with lifestyle brand Tommy Hilfiger, part of the PVH Corp group.

From spring 2020, Tommy Sport men’s and women’s tops, shorts and tank-tops will have Polygiene technology.

The Swedish textile technology provider said the use of Polygiene in these garments will help prolong their useful life, saving water by reducing the need for washing, while the prevention of bacterial growth will stop the premature break down of the fabric.

8.6% increase in revenue for Koovs

Online fashion retailer Koovs Plc. reported a 8.6% rise in revenues for FY19 to ₹59 crore, up from the ₹54.3 crore reported in 2017-18, according to the company’s annual report.

Koovs’ total comprehensive loss for the year ended 31 March 2019, however, widened to ₹137.9 crore from ₹134.27 crore in the year-ago period, as its operating expenses grew 12% to ₹123.2 crore.

The gross order value stood at ₹117.8 crore down 6% from a year earlier.

The 45th edition of IHGF Delhi Fair Spring 2018 concluded successfully at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida, with business enquiries valued at Rs 2700 crores. The fair played a significant role in exponentially increasing exports of handicrafts from the country where exports during the launch year 1994-95 which was Rs 3,159.62 crore has touched a phenomenal Rs 24,392.39 crore in 2016-17, said O P Prahldka, Chairman, EPCH.

The Indian technical textiles market has shown new trends due to the expansion of Indian market as the consumer spending is going through a fundamental shift. The increase in per capita income, strong demand for better lifestyle and high disposable income, have increased the per capita consumption in textiles and apparel market, benefiting the manufacturers, said Industry Affairs Committee of the PHD Chamber chairman Anil Khaitan.
