100% manmade fibre yarns export aggregated 6.35 million kg in September valued at US$17 million. This comprised 2.47 million kg of polyester yarn, 2.59 million kg of viscose yarn and 1.23 million kg of acrylic yarn. Compared to a year ago, shipment managed to remain just up while value was down 7 per cent.
Blended spun yarns export aggregated US$36.3 million in July, up 12 per cent YoY while volumes gained 20 per cent at 12 million kg. During the month, 6.7 million kg of PC yarns worth US$19 million and 3.5 million kg of PV yarns valued at US$9.8 million were exported.
Cotton/viscose yarn demand has been on the rise since cotton prices have started moderating while viscose gave the lustre. In July, 0.7 million kg of yarns were exported worth US$2.7 million as against 0.3 million and US$1.69 million in the same month last year.
100 percent man-made fibre yarns export rebounded sharply in July particularly that of polyester and viscose yarns. In July, 6.09 million kg of man-made spun yarn were exported, comprising 2.63 million kg of polyester yarn, 2.19 million kg of viscose yarn and 1.23 million kg of acrylic yarn.
The recovery in spun yarn exports is here to stay. Continuing with the significant rebound in June, July too posted a higher growth. Export grew sharply by 35 per cent in volume terms while the rise in value term was 16 per cent. The growth again emerged from the retained momentum of imports of yarns by China from India. For the second month in a row, China’s import of Indian spun yarn jumped in July. However, overall unit value realization continued to inch down hovering in the range of US$2.93-2.96 per kg on an average.
There has been a continuous decline in the export of 100 man-made fibre yarns in June particularly that of polyester and viscose yarns. In June, 5.57 million kg of man-made spun yarn were exported, comprising 2.58 million kg of polyester yarn, 1.83 million kg of viscose yarn and 0.90 million kg of acrylic yarn. Polyester yarn and viscose yarn exports were down by 25 per cent and 26 per cent in value respectively during the month, whereas acrylic yarn export picked up substantially by 7 per cent in May with volumes gaining 28 per cent.
