Spun viscose yarn markets were generally stable and calm in China, but sale/production ratio remained soft and liquidity lagged. Prices for siro‐spun 40s yarn were down owing to softening of VSF markets for the past few weeks. In Fuji, siro-spun rayon yarn prices were largely stable, but firm orders remained weak.

In India, viscose yarn prices inched up a bit in the fourth week of June due to unchanged VSF cost and significant rise in export. 30s viscose spun yarn prices inched up INR1 a kg in Indore market.

In May, exports of viscose yarns from India jumped more than 80% year on year, both in terms of volume and value. FOB prices were also up 5% in the comparable months.

Fabric makers were still in off season, and sentiment is expected to remain bearish after the Dragon Boat Festival.
