In Jiangsu, 40s compact sirospun yarn prices fell US cent 1 a kg in the last week of May while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan rolled over during the week.
Demand for viscose yarns remained relatively weak in China, in line with a fall in apparel exports to US and Europe.
Viscose spun yarn markets continued to dampen the sentiment amid lackluster performance except for core‐spun yarn sector. This was despite upward movement in VSF prices over the past few weeks.
In Pakistan, surge in imports from India has resulted in excess supply, whereas operating rates at spinning plants recovered with the end of winter season and power shortages. 35s and 40s viscose yarn prices were both up US cent 1 a kg (due to strong currency) in Karachi market.
In India, spun viscose yarn prices remained unchanged over the week, supported to firm VSF prices and export markets. 30s viscose spun yarn prices were down US cent 1 a kg (due to weak INR) in Indore market.
