Amhara creates market link for textile enterprises both locally and internationally

The Amhara Regional State Technical, Vocational and Enterprises Development Bureau, Ethiopia has created market links for 71,022 enterprises both locally and internationally by incorporating 161,000 mobilizer. This could possibly generate over 598,000,000 ETB in local markets, said Deputy Head with the Bureau, Kassa Alemu.

According to Kassa, 22 international enterprises have benefitted 565 mobilizers and could be possible to generate 420,000 USD.

Cotton County, Oklahoma , USA after years of struggling through dry conditions, the cotton fluffy white stuff has returned in force with 2016 production up by 51 percent than production during the last year, according to a new report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The total haul came out to well over half a million bales. The number is an estimate based on production through November.

Oklahoma Cotton Council executive director Harvey Schroeder said that the state’s cotton crop has been the beneficiary of auspicious rains and a warm September.

Bangladesh is the second largest denim apparel manufacturing country in the world after China. To flex the muscle of the clothing sub-sector and attract global buyer a two day Denim and Jeans Expo began yesterday in the city. A total of 24 companies from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Germany, China and Brazil are part in the show.

The Denim and Jeans Expo was inaugurated by Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran at a city hotel . President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association ( BGMEA) Md Atiqul Islam was also present in the opening function.

China becomes the major importer of Indian coir and coir products

China is the biggest importer of coir based products from India. During 2013-14, a total of 192,110 tones of coir products, valued at Rs 360.5 crore were shipped to China, a growth of 32 percent on value terms, according to Indian Coir Board.

India exported 537,040 tones of coir and coir based products, valued at Rs 1476 crore. In the previous financial year, total export was 429,501 tones valued at Rs 1116 crore, a rise by 25 percent was recorded in the volume of coir based products.
